4thpillar technologies updates

  • February 2020, SI-Chain partnership
4thpillar technologies joined the Slovenian national blockchain testing infrastructure called SI-Chain. The Si-Chain implementation of 4thpillar technologies electronic data and documents exchange protocol and identity mechanism is underway. Supported by Slovenian Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, powered by HashNET and Telemach, Si-Chain was established in November 2019 with the intent to enable testing of existing and new blockchain applications for the public and private sector. • April 2020, 4thtech and HashNET consortium
Supported and approved by Slovenian Ministry of Public Administration, the consortium was formed between 4thpillar technologies and HashNET, to enter the INEA 2020 CEF Telecom Call with the blockchain eDelivery solution and SI-Chain implementation. More information
  • April 2020, blockchain eDelivery cross-platform client technical paper publication
After two years of blockchain eDelivery protocol (i.e. FOURdx) MVP testing, the technical feasibility and its practical potential have been proven, with that PoC (i.e. proof of concept) was confirmed. As the European Union is embracing the benefits of blockchain technology, now is the time for furthered development of blockchain eDelivery protocol (i.e. FOURdx). The development of blockchain eDelivery (i.e. FOURdx) cross-platform (i.e. Windows, Mac OS, Linux, Android, iOS) desktop and mobile client is specified in the blockchain e-delivery cross-platform client technical paper.
  • May 2020, CEF Telecom Call - eDelivery (CEF-TC-2020-1) application

We have submitted CEF Telecom eDelivery Call application, with the objective to develop and deploy cross-platform eDelivery client, a DSI with a unique Access Point, that will leverage blockchain for electronic data and documents exchange.

  • June/July 2020, SI-Chain deployment
Si-Chain deployment of 4thtech electronic data and documents exchange protocol.
  • July 2020, 4thtech at Virtual Workshop Towards Global Interoperability Blockchain Infrastructure in Geneva

UN/CEFACT Chain - Guidance for cross border interoperable blockchain infrastructure 4.0 was presented along with selected use cases on the 9th of July in Geneva. 4thtech eDelivery use-case presentation was presented at 12:00 (Geneva time). More information

  • August 2020, the start of SI-Chain partner initiative program
Join the SI-Chain initiative and SI-Chain partner testing program. SI-Chain Pilot transactions offer EMV smart contracts and Ethereum compatible dApp environment and as first application electronic data and document exchange and eDelivery .  SI-Chain initiative explores the necessary supporting tools for implementing Blockchain services and outline the technology infrastructures which can support high speed and scalable fourth generation blockchain technology.

INITIATIVES

4thtech initiative explores the necessary supporting tools for implementing blockchain services and outline the technology infrastructures which can support high speed and scalable fourth generation blockchain technology.

SI-Chain was established with the support of the Slovenian Ministry of Economic Development and Technology by the innovative technology company Hashnet in cooperation with Telemach, a telecommunication solutions provider. The technology will initially facilitate transactions and the creation of smart contracts. The first application on SI-Chain is 4thtech’s eDelivery. eDelivery is a service that allows the secure and reliable exchange of documents and data across borders and sectors.

(1) To develop a framework/mechanism for development and implementation of Blockchain services infrastructure, which will be compatible and in line with European Blockchain services infrastructure and usable or extendable globally;

(2) To create a Study on strategy for development and implementation of interoperable global blockchain technology infrastructure, taking into consideration existing standards for implementation of cross border Blockchain infrastructure in an interoperable manner.

4thpillar technologies joined the Slovenian national blockchain testing infrastructure called SI-Chain at the beginning of 2020, since then, the team has been productive. It has already launched its first application, 4thtech’s eDelivery. eDelivery is a service that allows the secure and reliable exchange of documents and data across borders and sectors.

UNECE Chain White-paper goal is to develop Guidance for cross border interoperable blockchain infrastructure. UN/CEFACT is a subsidiary of the United Nations Commission for Europe (UNECE) and is a key player within the United Nations Economic and Social Council for setting electronic business standards and trade facilitation recommendations. UN/CEFACT essentially exists to make trade processes more efficient.

Project is following two main orientations: to develop a framework/mechanism for development and implementation UN/CEFACT Blockchain services infrastructure, which will be compatible and in line with other services infrastructure and usable or extendable globally and to create a Whitepaper on strategy for development and implementation of interoperable global blockchain technology infrastructure, taking into consideration existing standards for implementation of cross border Blockchain infrastructure in an interoperable manner.

Whitepaper aims to explore the challenges to actually implementing blockchain interoperability from legal, technical, and governance points of view. Interoperability is complex, and the fact that blockchain is still an emerging technology further complicates efforts to solve interoperability in the general case. With most pilot projects being conducted by private sector actors, there is a risk of the dominant technology being chosen by market forces alone. At the same time there is an opportunity for the public sector to take an active role in guiding the development of the technology towards incorporating interoperability-by-design, as well as distributed governance models for DLT infrastructure.

UNECE Chain initiative highlights new technology and outlines promising use cases which boast improved trust, transparency and efficiency. 4thtech blockchain eDelivery protocol is one of the use cases that will be presented and later featured in the recommendation whitepaper known as UNECE Chain.
